SAFE SAMPLING AND MULTIPLEXING INDICATOR (SSAMI)
A POWERFUL SAMPLING AND DETECTION SYSTEM
ECONOMICAL, RAPID RESULT, ACCURATE AND POCKET-SIZE
The SSAMI is a multi-use safe sample collector and presumptive screening device designed to quickly evaluate a variety of surfaces, in trace, powder or liquid forms in the field or laboratory. These tests require no power, no calibration, no maintenance, can be used by those with limited skills, and are extremely light weight.
Easy to use. The surface sampling device is coupled with a Lateral Flow Strip Test Assembly Container. The SSAMI – Sampler is common to all contaminated surface sampling and can be used to sample biological agents, chemical agents, explosives, narcotics, and other pathogens. It comprises a pre-moistened sponge that is used to collect the sample. Once returned to the housing, the sample is safely contained and allows ‘no contamination’ transfer of at least 1.8 mls sample to be injected into the SSAMI – Detector. The SSAMI – Detector, containing up to 12 threat detectors, will then analyze and display the results. A second sample is retained in the SSAMI – Sampler which can be used for confirmatory testing in a second SSAMI – Detector, retained for further laboratory analysis or safely stored as evidence. The SSAMI can be configured to customer specifications.
multiplexing Platform
SSAMI - Detector
Our presumptive detector platform is used in conjunction with the SSAMI – Sampler and is based on traditional lateral flow immunoassays. Rather than develop new cassettes and housing for each presumptive assay, we are validating a unique a multiplexing platform capable of integrating most current chromogenic or capture assays including lateral flow immunoassay and chromogenic spot/flow chemistry. In this manner, current commercial tests can be incorporated into our device for mission specific, more informative, lower cost devices.
White Powder/Liquid Samples
ssAMI - sampler
Our safe sampling platform is used in conjunction with the SSAMI – Detector and was designed to be simple and intuitive to use while wearing MOPP 4 gloves. Haptics, guidance features, and tamper evident indicators have been built into its functionality preventing improper use. The device collects a sample (unknown “white powder”/liquid) and prepare it for subsequent presumptive analysis with our Silencer multiplexing platform. It contains two identical on-board samples simplifying on-site workflow.
